I am a victim of circumstance; hence the reason why I couldn't come out to play tonight 

My best laid plans had factored in my Mother's birthday, but hadn't banked on the labour force (currently renervating our East Wing) deciding to commence proceedings a day early.  Dashing around like a madman, playing the principle role of caring for sibling whilst wife plays role of goffer to labour force.

Hours tick by and, after much cursing, the futility of trying to attend tonight hits me like one of Naaman's farts.
