What MODs do people use?
«
on:

I had a look on one of the MODs forums, and there's hundreds of the things!
Can anyone help out a Newbie, and say what good ones they've already found?
I already know about:
Titan Bar
Necrosis (Warlock assist, thanks Lyon)
I'm looking for stuff suitable for my Druid, Rogue, Warlock (and possibly upcoming Paladin)

CT_MOD
Is a handy bit of kit with a lot of customisable features in it, including a handy mapnotes mod
AUTOBUFF
excellent for the lazy, can configure all your "target self" buffs, recasts when expiry is due.
Gatherer
Marks on the map where you find stuff (and Minimap)
Auctioneer....excellent mod that lets you scan the auction houses and reports (in a tooltip) what can sell for what, suggests prices based on scanned mediums.
This also comes with a handy info mod, that shows the vendor prices for your loot.
Reagent data
Tells you what stuff you find can be used in what, eg. blacksmithing, alchemy, tailoring etc
Enchantrix
For all you budding enchanters, tells you what "rips down" into what for disenchanting
ATLAS
Handy in instance map browser, tells you where things of note are, and gives you a map of the instance
Fishease
Cos im damned lazy.... autocasts fihing rod on lake when equipped, recasts as you unhook your fish
Zorlen Hunter functions
A library of info, that you macro to.
Necrosis
the only mod youll ever need as a warlock
Weaponswap
Switches configured weapons, handy for rogues/paladins/warriors
Can switch between dual wield/sword & Shield etc at the press of a button
I have another, the name eludes me atm, it creates a database as you kill and loot stuff, handy for trying to find items later. tells you what dropped it and where
Enchantrix, Auctioneer, reagent data and the unamed above all create a very nice informative tooltip about an item, saying where it drops, what it sells for, what it disenchants into, what the enchanting materials are used for and how much you could sell those for too. oh and vendor prices
Hope that helps a bit

Use the below mods plus I've customised a mod called HateMe for my warrior
which gives me a sort of autofight button.
Things I really like :
Titan Panel, I use it for map coordinates , clock and bag space.
http://ui.worldofwar.net/ui.php?id=1442
MonkeyQuest, give you a better quest summary window and tooltips beneath quest mobs.
http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=343
ScrollingCombatText, shows the damage you take in numbers over your head.
http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=222
Things that are good but you might not need :
Auctioneer, lets you scan the AH for latest prices best deals etc
http://www.auctioneeraddon.com
Warrrior stance change functions
http://ui.worldofwar.net/ui.php?id=1002
Group Buttons, what my priest uses to give buttons next to people when needed
http://www.discordmods.com
Discord Action Bars, replaces interface with configurable bars, not too hard to set up
http://www.discordmods.com
Things that aren't that great
Gatherer, show where you have fuond herbs/ore you can display them on the world map etc not as useful as it sounds
http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=44
Flexbar, super powerful UI tool but too hard to set up and use
http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=42

After checking out some of Johns suggestions I loaded up Auctioneer, seems good so far, but I have my doubts about the auction houses in general. Seems like a lot of people are listing a lot of stuff (which is good) but I'm not sure how much is actually sold...
But fortunately Auctioneer has a little bid% item which tells me what percentage have actually been bid on!

Thanks for all the help guys. I now have:
Titan Bars
Auctioneer + Enchantrix + Informant
Autobuff
Group Button + MobHealth2
LazyRogue (does what it says on the tin
)
MailTo
MonkeyQuest
Necrosis
Scrolling Combat Text
Weapon Juggler (might try different weapon swappers, as this one uses too many macros. However if i want to code a macro: switch to knife / backstab / switch to main weapon, it's supposed to work...)

Scanning thru the previous posts it seems no-one has listed EquipCompare. Nifty mod that allows you to see if an item is better than what you have in a tooltip
Others i have already listed here include :
Titan + plenty of plugins ( much better nowadays with the double bar)
Mob-Info
Gatherer
Auctioneer
Atlas (for the instances)
Scrolling Combat Text
Also
http://ui.worldofwar.net
best place for downloads

To use mods in the game, once you extract the zip folder you need to place the folder in your world of warcraft folder, like this example below (picked titan cos it just came into my head, any of the MANY addons will be the same, possibly with the exception of cosmos, cos i think thats an .exe and havent used it)
(this is where my folder is saved on my computer, your path may differ a little)
C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\addons\Titan
If there isnt a folder called addons in your interface folder, just create one!
Upon logging into the game, you will see a small button in the bottom left corner of your character selection screen, called addons, clicking on this takes you to a list of addons that you can enable/disable at will. Theres also the oppertunity to increase the script memory availiable is required.
Hope this helps!

Hello Aionne, Bladewitch here
If you llok back at JohnO/Gurge's post you'll see that the majority of addons are found on Curse Gaming:

Has anybody actually managed to download CensusPlus 3.2 yet? The link has been there for ages, but it leads to the 3.1 version when you unzip it and you can't use that to upload data anymore

OK, here's some more I've tried and liked - all available at
http://ui.worldofwar.net
ACUI_MyInventory
- combines all your bags into on big bag
ACUI_MYBank
- does the same with the bags in your bank
Characters Viewer
- lets you view the equipment and banks of your other alts
Recipe Book
- remembers the receipes known by your other alts (appears in tooltips)
MailTo
- adds a drop-down list of names to your send mail window. Also times when mail is expected to arrive
Advanced Trade Skill Window
- adds all sorts of goodies to your crafting windows - a favourite of my Engineer
MetaMap
- adds maps for instances, lets you put markers on your maps (similar to Atlas I think)
Flightmap
(aka Dhask-FlightMap) - remembers times and costs of flights (and has an option to show unknown flight points too)
Outfitter
- changes not just your weapons, but other equipment too
Fishing Buddy
- does all sorts of things to make your fishing easier
Theory Craft
- works out how much damage or healing your spell will do with different equipment sets
Poisoner
- a popup menu to add poisons to your weapons. Also works for Mana Oil, Weightstones, etc. (so useful for other classes than Rogues, despite the name)
AutoProfit
- adds a "sell junk" button to vendor windows, which sells all grey stuff
EasyUnlock
- adds an "unlock" button to player trade window (if you are a Rogue), also knows the required Picklock skill for most boxes (appears in tooltips)
Fizzwidget Feed-O-Matic
- plays a noise when your pet is hungry, and auto-selects which food to use
Poison Master
- helps you buy components for poisons
Prowler
- for Druids, changes the bar when your cat stealths (and does some other stuff too)

I have downloaaded KTM but it says Ined the precursor KLHthreatmeter so I downloaded that. That said I needed titan so I got that also.
None of these stop my threatmeter as coming up as incompatable.
How do I get KTM?
