Strange crashes
« on: 27 January 2008, 03:24:10 pm »
Well I think I have fixed the BSoD's I have been getting... *Hopes he hasn't jinxed himself here* But I am having another strange issue. COX randomly freezing up for no apaprent reason. Happened once today and twice yesterday. The only other app I had running (aside from firewall and other essential utillities) was Windows Media Player 11. Anyone know of any compatibillity issues between the two? I used to run the game with WMP in the background before without issue so am not convinced this is it.

Does it lock up or freeze momentarily?

If it freezes what's happening to netgraph at the time? I see disturbing freezes sometime that look like big green plateaus...
When eyeing a large and dangerous mob...
...A Tanker says, "Stay here while I distract them with my rock hard (granite) body."
...A Brute says, "Stay here while I let them kill me so I can kill them faster!"
...A Scrapper says, "Stay here while I.....ya know what, screw it---CHARGE!11!!1!!11!!1!!

Locks up completely and I have to reboot, then again I am still getting random BSoD's, more than before my OS reinstall. Just cant seem to isolate the problem.

What BSODs you getting - if it is rebooting too quick for you to see, you will need to right click my computer, left click properties.

Click advanced, then error reporting or startup recovery ( depends on the version of os) and take the tick ouit of auto restart after system failure.

this will at least allow you to start diagnosing the problem
