Title: New Horde PVP Guild all welcome
Post by: Twylyte on 2 January 2008, 09:13:31 am
For those who have followed a the long thread re Tuesday night PVPing I am now recruiting to the last three slots in the guild.

First off to accomodate our COH buddies we will instance Wednesday not Tuesday evening.

In the Guild "Oblivion" we have 7 members most of whom have more than one alt.

There are two main principles to the guild: the first is that it is a PVP server (and a real nasty one!). This means that Hordies (us) and Alliance can fight freely in all areas (except low level areas). This makes teamwork essential as we are going to get skanked on our own (and just as likley as a group).

The second thing is that once a character hits 19 we are waiting for other guildies to catch up. That way we are always at about the same level and helping each other out. It's the best level to do the battlefields which is a great way to hone the PVP skills. We are all new to PVP so our intention is to learn together. We are dueling each other also so we can practise different ways of dieing and being humiliated.

The team work is termendous although those who watch me cast fear and aggro 5 seperate mobs last night might have a contrary view!

So far we have

Me - Lock
James - Pally
Tord - Rogue
Neo - Rogue
Mark - Druid
Rachel - Preist
Marcus - Mage

Yes we have noticed we have no Hunter (and hence no radar) so our raid group is still vulnerable to being jumped
So, as mains, we are looking to recruit 3 more players
vacancies include:

Warrior
Hunter
Shaman

but really you can play anything you like.

My in-game name is Skarab you are more than welcome to join us.

Mark

Swifty persuaded me.

I'm going to roll a Orc Warrior tonight.
Thinking professions will be mining/smithing.

I'll edit with my name when I'm done.

Yay to being able to PvP again! Not so yay to being ganked in Stranglethorn and Tanaris for 2 hours straight.  :P
PvP server, born and bred.  ;D

EDIT: Orc Warrior just made. Named Thurak.

Well, more we have one culture (the elves), a couple of tag-alongs and a cow.  :P

Still, I can think of worse armies that find just as much pleasure as us in "cuttin dem humies into littal bitz."

Its fun!

Even though my priest dies with spectacular regularity in the battlegrounds :) but Cuth has prepared me for death :) (plus the gods are on my side, nyah nyah nyah).

Most people have alts getting up around lvl 19 now; please remember to hold them at that level so we don't leapfrog. Also for preference, pick one character for PVP and stick with it so we get familiarity faster :)

And protect your healer, especially when I get hit! Ow! Ow ow ow!  :) :)

I've rolled a priest as an alt - I know we were a bit thin on the ground for healers as most of them were level 19. And my hunter Teblor is now the proud owner of a bat called "Muminlaw" *grin*.

Dear Moderators

(I've spoken to Ash breifly about this already)

Now that we have 22 players could we have a little corner of the world for "Most Wanted"

A tab called Horde Guild would be great
and if it's not too much bother can we have sub tabs for

"Current Level Cap"
"Guild Bank/Making Money"
"Current Raids and Activities"
"Sherrifs Office" (Rules and Regs)
"PVP Tips & Advice"

This would be really useful and would curtail my blatent marketing in other game groups. Is this OK??

I have been on just to check the guild and mail and its great to see all the new members in and also thanks for all the cloth and shizz for D/Eing.

See you all tomorrow on Spinebreaker.

Due to Swifty's continued absence from work...

I'll be working his shift tomorrow which doesn't end until 7. I will hopefully (traffic and buses permitting, be at home about 8, so expect me online between 8 and half past)  :)

Whilst in a delicate and vulnerable state on Sunday following much beer at the SG/guild meet I was lured back to WoW.
I’ve rolled an undead warrior, name of brodski on spinebreaker (those who have teamed with my defender in CoH will know why I went with that class)- no professions yet (I’m open to suggestions).

It’s been over 18 months since I really played WoW, and I’ve forgotten much of it (and never really did PvP, apart from the odd BG, when I was playing), so I’m pretty much a n00b, but it is coming back to me.
I hope you can cope with my stupid questions, and I look forward to doing some evil with you in the near future.

If anyone knows of a good PvP warrior guide I would be grateful, also any UI add ons which may be helpful, as I never got into UI modding last time I played.
For the Horde!
Jon.

If you need any tips on warrior pvp, ask Neodragus as he knows very much what to do and when so just catch him and he will point you in the right direction. :)

Tbh with you, at low levels your not going to have too much in terms of customisation. The reason people love the twinks at level 19 is that, with only 9 talent points you can't get to any really powerful moves and as such it is basically about gear. As we go through we'll find this becoming less and less apparent

Here is a talent calcultor for the warrior

http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/talents/warrior/talents.html

Take a good look, generally for PVP builds, warriors tend to go arms because of the awesome skill that is mortal strike, and the basic idea is to get a huge 2H weapon and beat the snot out of people by using the insta cast weapon damages such as mortal strike and Whirlwind. I'm sure neo will talk more about this as and when he notices it.

 Welcome back to WoW :D

Brodski, u want a warrior guide, how does one with long legs and a sexy voice sound? ... Tough luck, looks like ur stuck with me = p
well, yes anyway, warriors ... *cough* I can compose a small guide if u wish and run around with u from time to time to help you out considering my main is a warrior therefor anything you need to ask I can pretty much answer it, (warrior related of course). and if you just leave a post on here or something and i'll get back to you, I do check every now and then
