Not sure. Ordering now may get us the "Guaranteed" beta spot disc. If you're willing to pay the 14 or so dollars for Fed-Ex I'd put good money on at least getting it for release date. Worst case is you wait a few more days but still get the funky helmet :)

this is 'I've had the physical box', or I've placed the order and I've got my beta place ? I'm trying to work out if this is worth doing to get the head start, as I'm not sure whether it will arrive in time.

It may arrive in time if you use FedEx shipping option and you'll recieve the actual box with full game when it's released and it should get posted 2 days before release.
 
ATM  You recieve a preorder box set of stuff, including 2 14 day trial invites for both CoH and Lineage II, poster, Preorder key and a CD of the CoV website...
