Title: I7 on test... clock is running...
Post by: Zombieman on 2 May 2006, 07:13:26 pm
clickee (http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=2092861&page=2&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1#2092861)

Couple of things I noticed in particular:

Quote
Although characters now keep their Origin-based attack power past level 10, characters who have already lost the power by leveling up are not being given the power back. This is a bug and will be addressed in a later patch.
Ooooh.... Origin-specific powers stay beyond level 10?

Quote
All exploration badges now give a small amount of XP when you find them (based on your level).
XP for exploring? Well I do believe I've seen that somewhere before... ;)

Quote
For players with both City of Heroes and City of Villains access, Hero characters have access to all formerly Villain-only costume pieces.
Check out the threads, man, check out the threads ;D

Quote
In order to truly prove yourself the greatest of villains you must take on the greatest of heroes… Statesman! Villains who think they are up to the ultimate challenge should contact Lord Recluse directly in Grandville. Be warned – many have tried to challenge Statesman, and most failed without even getting close to him. Until now, none have succeeded. Only a group of the very strongest villains should attempt this.
Wow! Now THAT's what I call a "carrot" for the Villains players

Quote
New Power Sets

• Mastermind Primary – Thugs
• Brute Primary – Electric Melee
• Brute Secondary – Electric Shields
• Stalker Primary – Dark Melee
• Stalker Secondary – Dark Armor
Wasn't it Swifty who wanted an leccy-leccy brute?

Quote
Player Pets should no longer attack the lava in the Batzul mission.
YAY!!!!!!!! Now all we need to work out is how to keep them out of the lava...

Some nice things for SR :)

Also
Quote
  • Buff icons will flash before timing out
  • New Emotes  (http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=5423149&page=&view=&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1)
  • "Do Not Allow Invites" option in LFG flags
  • Defeat Badges now require that you or your team do 10% or more damage to the entity to receive credit for the badge. (The former system required that you deal 25% or more damage to get credit).

and of course

Level 41-50 now open to Villains

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Wouldn't panic Swifty - I7 is frickin' huge. It'll be on test for a while.

Stealth and Phase Shift Powers will suppress (for self buffs or toggles) or cancel (for external buffs) when a player interacts with Interactive Objects, such as Plaques or Mission Objective Objects. Suppression of this type has a duration of 10 seconds.

In the 1/5/06 notes, oh no it's back !

I do like the terminals that give you really full info on the patron powers before you choose which arc to do. This is of the form:

Unenhanced damage 32 recharge 32 seconds foe slow -fly, range 80' End cost 12 etc with real numbers.

Sweet :) maybe it's a move to give baseline number for all the other powers  as well

No, it's because once you've picked a patron you're stuck with it, not even a respec will get you a different one.

On the plus side, did a mayhem mish, they're a blast. Kinda Grand theft auto meets CoV. My elec/elec brute and a mate's thug MM. The only things you can't kill are the civilians, plenty of phones, hydrants, parking meters, cars and police to blow up to earn you bonus time.

I did a mayhem mission in the week too with my bots, and yeah it's a blast..... (GTA meets CoV is a good description) Didn't actually complete it successfully (got close but managed to run out of time), but it was great fun "killing" lots of cars, payphones, bus shelters, boxes, fire hydrants, and the like, even getting bonus time for "resisting arrest"  ;D

Also saw a new design of bank vault map..... and the inside of a Paragon Police jail.....  ::)

Do the side quest, this provides 8 minutes of bonus time (far more than it takes to do), resisting arrest is a 30 second bonus for taking out a squad of cops or I think summoning the longbow ambushes. Killing objects seems to generate either 1 min or 1.30, occasionally on a random basis. We ended up at level 6 ish with nothing left to kill that wasn't a level 10 or higher object, and 5 minutes on the clock. The side quest was a load of skulls or hellions standing outside a building, kill them, get a key, do a small mission to rescue hostage and get her to where you entered the original mission.

One thing I noticed was that after completing the main quest, we could no longer accrue time bonuses for breaking stuff, so probably best to do all the breaking stuff and the side quest first.

I'd imagine it's insane with 8, main mission says 'Defeat hero to escape'. This was a normal boss with 2 of us, don't know if it goes up to EB or hero with more players.

Oh, and there's an explo badge in the one we did, got awarded a 2 hrs of use jetpack temp item when it appeared. Not sure if this is a once ever or if it's repeatable.

There goes my plan to get to 40 before I7 came out, so close as well. Oh well. I can still team up with you 40's though. level 38 at the moment, hopefully 39 by the end of today. Though all the distractions by the new possible toons. AHHHHHH  :D

You can hang out with Tik Tok if ya want - I have no problems at 4th difficulty level and a spare bod :) If you want to contribute that's even better

I7 on live and at same time my web hosting provider tells me that my sites (forlorn-hope.org) are "ready to move when I am" (with all web files copied... heaven knows what state the databases are in)

Typical innit... At least the actual web site switch is under my control...

You did not miss much Naam, the new zone is very laggy, most likely till the thursday downtime when the patch comes out, and lots of the missions are bugged (done three so far, two have been bugged). I suggest then that you play around with some new toons until the new zone settles down a bit.

Mastermind pet naming is bugged too (I notice this was mentioned on the boards prior to I7 going live)

Also the nice wee icons like the ever handy "attack my target" that I've had in my MM tray since CoV launch are gone.

Didn't have a lot of time last night though........

Also sometimes you loose control of your pets, they dissapear from your pet list, but are still around. You cannot dismiss them or call some new ones. They best way to solve this is to get some guys to kill your pets for you so you can call some new ones.
